So I just finished my makeup certificate. Seriously.  I figured if I am going to walk around saying I am a beauty expert, I better put my money where my mouth is (or my lipstick, as the case may be).

That being said, I headed to Paramita Makeup Academy in Toronto for their Beauty and Bridal Bootcamp and learned all kinds of fun tips and tricks...and, ya, then I took an exam!

So, I wouldn't be me if I didn't impart all those nuggets of info I learned at beauty school! I had amazing models (Thanks so much Andrea Hucal and Renee Gold!) and set off to take in everything I could.

So, this post let's talk about 5 amazing beauty secrets I learned at school:

1. High Beam Awesomeness
This product is a miracle.  I could not believe what it does to your eyelids to prep for eyeshadow.  luminescence is not even an adequate word.  I am obsessed and can't wait to use this ALWAYS from now on.

2. Prepping your brows:
K.  So here is all you need to remember: Brush, Colour, Brush.  Seriously.  Oh, and then you can use eyeshadow or brow powder to set and to make it look waaaaaay softer.

3.  Always Taupe, Never White:
Check this out.  So, you know how you are supposed to line your inner eye with white, right? WRONG.  White makes your eyes look yellow! So instead, line your inner eye with Nude/Taupe for a more natural and eye-whitening and widening effect.

4. Want to Make Your Lips Look Bigger?
If you do, then go lighter.  The darker the shade of lipstick, the smaller your pout will appear (for those of you that are looking to shrink your pucker, this is a great way to do it!).

5. If Your Lips Are Two Different Colours:
This one is so fantastic.  If you have one lip that is darker then the other, there is a way to colour correct this! Apply a darker shade of lipstick over the lighter lip to achieve balance and then apply the lighter shade to your entire mouth. Voila!

I am so grateful to the folks at Paramita for having me in their class and for teaching me a whole bunch of super-duper makeup tricks.  I highly recommend the experience to anyone who wants to get a ton of great info!
Oh, and check out www.lkisstyle.com next week for more beauty secrets I learned at makeup school :)
